Dr Harjyot Gill grew up on a banana farm in the tropical community of Cardwell in North Queensland before moving to Townsville to study medicine at James Cook University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery. During her training, she undertook a range of rural, regional, and international clinical experiences, including supporting communities following natural disasters and completing elective placements that broadened her perspective and strengthened her passion for community-centred care.

After completing her internship and residency at Townsville Hospital, Dr Gill commenced GP training and has since completed her GP examinations, with fellowship anticipated in 2026. As a GP registrar, she also completed extended skills training in an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health setting, reinforcing her commitment to culturally safe, holistic care and health equity.

Dr Gill enjoys working across a wide range of clinical settings and values the continuity and depth of care that family medicine offers. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling and discovering new cuisines, especially when shared with family and friends.
